Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen

Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Haman | www.rangerink.com Getting ready for a new year is always exciting and I truly love being able to create a new calendar that I can use to plan out all of my big projects. This calendar is a monthly planner so it gives me a great high-level look at what I have happening. I do not, however, want the same planner that everyone else has, so I have to take it and make it my own! I have been all about catching my dreams lately and have been creating a lot around the idea of dreams and dream catchers, which is what lead to the dream catcher on the front of this calendar. It is a simple project to create and I hope you enjoy it! Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.com

Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comTrace the calendar cover onto the back of your sticky back canvas... Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.com... be sure to leave the backing on until the very end! Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comTake your pencil and trace a circle onto a piece of the glassine paper then cut it out. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comFold it in half and cut the center out, creating a donut shape. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comAdd gesso to your canvas – create a circle a bit bigger than the one you just cut out (which you can use as a guide for size). Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comAdd some pieces of fringe hanging down. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comWhile the gesso dries, cut out some strips from the glassine paper to create more fringe and decorative bits for your dream catcher. Use Glue n' Seal to adhere the glassine pieces to the canvas once the gesso is dry. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comFeel free to use the heat gun to dry the glue n seal. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comTake some paint and begin to add color to your dream catcher. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comOnce the paint is on and dry, seal the entire piece with a glaze made from glue n seal and a tiny bit of umber paint. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comDry with the heat gun. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comDistress a bit more using the Walnut Stain – wipe with a baby wipe to spread color. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.com Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.com Add in dimension and some clarity of the lines with a permanent marker, creating lines and doodles on the piece. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comFinish with some rubo-ns. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comNow cut from the corner into the marked pencil corner on all four corners of your canvas. Peel off the backing and adhere the image to the front cover. Fold and trim the edges, securing the cover all the way. Dare to Dream Journal by Stephenie Hamen | www.rangerink.comMy calendar had a clear cover, so I slipped it back into the cover to keep it protected.
